The opportunity
‘Africa Invites’ is an opportunity for London and the rest of the world to connect with africa to experience the vision of our diverse people and our enterprise, and to see for themselves how we are building a continent that is not only relevant in an evolving world. But is becoming increasingly instrumental in setting the global agenda. And because we want to change the tired old negative narrative into a positive and real new one. ‘Africa Invites’ you to make up your own mind.
The dual purpose of the Exhibition
To (a) develop a sustained Exhibition of African inspiration in London - the city of influence – to spread the word and allow audiences to open themselves up to the reality of africa and engage with a new perspective. ‘Africa Invites’ London The city of influence, the city of london is renowned for its diversity and it draws the top talent of countries from all over the world. London offers the platform to present Africa to the world and allow the influencers that live, work and trade here, to engage with the continent in a new light, and once engaged to participate in its growth and relay the message of the africa rising to their countries of origin.
To (b) create a fairer platform for commercial trade using the democratisation of modern
technology to initiate connections between suppliers and buyers. A people to... People Portal. The people to people platform will allow SME’s in Africa an e-commerce presence to present their products in a fair way to international counterparts, partners and buyers. In this very real way the disruptive power of information communications can create a virtual marketplace that allows access for these players to conduct business without the current restrictive attitudes and trade policies and practices. Evidence has shown that once companies are exposed to and establish operations in or with africa, their attitude is markedly positive.
